Job Description

The BSD Team is looking for Software Engineers in SRE team to apply software development principles and practices to effectively run our Infrastructure and efficiently solve difficult operations problems, and in doing so continuously meet and/or improve our Customer Experience. As an SRE, you will be embedded into an Platform team, evangelizing, building tools and implementing the BSD priorities around reliability that includes infrastructure, devops, observability, automation, integrations, high-availability, fault tolerance, and partnering with the SRE Leader in various initiatives. The ideal candidate for this role comes with a good experience around troubleshooting & problem-solving skills with strong interest in reliability and scale. You will be applying SRE principles to maintain and improve the performance of our services both in on-premise Data center and cloud environments, there by balancing the priorities between Perform (Production on-premise) and Transform (towards Cloud).Show More Key responsibilitiesPlaying a pivotal role in connecting Technology, Products, Process and End Users, your Key Responsibilities will include Actively manage the day to day aspects of running production grade Application serving thousands of Customers Collaborate with various teams and service owners to ensure Application Availability Contribute to efforts to develop and operate reliable, scalable software s, embedded into Platform and Infrastructure teams there by championing site Reliability Principles Manage and optimize infrastructure and monitoring ecosystem, this includes leveraging various technologies as defined by Enterprise Architecture and bringing your development skills to deliver performance of the operating environments Brings in a sense of ownership to move from manual interventions to automated responses in managing and triaging incidents Champions use of Handbooks with a goal towards how to respond to incidents or failures Help triage complex issues and manage stakeholders expectations during incidents and/or escalations, while troubleshooting and proactively driving problem management, eventually owning RCA actions. Participate in on-call rotations Support both production run and transformation initiatives to push services towards best-in-class deployment and delivery methodologies, leveraging technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, APIGEE, Akamai, Middleware Technologies, SQL/NOSQL technologies, monitoring tools and drive cloud adoption and standardization across our on-premise and cloud environments Manage and deliver on agreed set of Service level Indicators (SLI s) and metrics that are representative of our customer experience and/or committed SLAShow More We are looking forpassionate Engineer bringing in strong experience from Enterprise grade application environment, someone who exemplifies a self-starter and learner attitude and could analytically make independent decisions to navigate ambiguity. Has been there and done that embedded and collaboratively with Engineering Teams. An ideal candidate will bring in skills around 1-2 years in SRE role, with overall 5+ years of experience in heterogeneous environments (DC and Cloud, preferably Azure) Strong experience in containers and container orchestration Experience to identify, define and implement monitoring and integrations to various alerting and observability tools Hands on experience writing high quality code in one or two of the software languages in modern day infrastructure operating environments Good breadth of operational experience, with an eye for software design, scalability and automation Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences,
