Software Engineer - Satellite DeliveryLocation Remote Czech RepublicPosting date 2 days ago(3/15/2021 11:34 AM)Job ID 82663 Job summary The Red Hat Satellite team is looking for a Software Engineer interested in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), DevOps, or Release Engineering to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, youll have the opportunity to write software solutions to solve process issues and automate solutions on an enterprise product with thousands of users. The team ensures that product users can consume releases in form of distribution packages in a timely and simple manner. Red Hat Satellite, based on Foreman, is a systems management solution with a focus on system administration, networking, systems monitoring, or configuration management technologies like Puppet or Ansible. We are a distributed team of engineers from all around the world. Foreman project has an active community of contributors outside of Red Hat too. Primary job responsibilities

  • Deliver releases to users and customers in packaged form
  • Improve and maintain infrastructure that is required to build, test, and distribute said packages
  • Develop tools and processes that make packaging easier
  • Collaborate with other team members on analyzing and fixing bugs in the packaging process
  • Work with release coordinators to understand product release requirements and make release plans accordingly
  • Communicate with Red Hat support engineers to solve customer issues
Required skills
  • Experience with Jenkins
  • Experience with RPM
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Experience with Linux OS on user level
  • Experience with automating processes through code
  • Basic programming experience
  • Communicative level of English
The following are considered a plus:
  • Experience with Python
  • Infrastructure and sysadmin skills
  • Networking or Linux administration skills; experience with configuration management
