    Job Title Social Finance Senior Associate Reporting to Social Finance Manager Line Management responsibility None Location Delhi / Mumbai / Home working for the medium term Summary About British Asian Trusts Social Finance Unit Our Social Finance practice started in 2017 & we launched the worlds largest Education Development Impact Bond (QEI) in 2018 with partners in India. Over the last three years we have built up extensive experience in driving new outcomes focused projects with philanthropists, donors & service providers and are currently working on new projects across the region.Our team focuses on driving the social/outcomes finance market in South Asia with a deep belief that innovative approaches to aid and philanthropy can improve international development and social outcomes. We work in collaboration with external partners on all our projects and are committed to an agile and entrepreneurial approach and making a deep impact in South Asia.We are also committed to building the market for this work in the region by investing in outcomes readiness projects, driving partnerships with local Government stakeholders, and contributing to research and evidence to grow the field. Our work builds on British Asian Trusts long and rich experience of working in South Asia, particularly India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.We are now looking for a new member of our Social Finance team in India. We are expanding our work in India and the wider South Asia region, and now have a portfolio of several programmes including 2 impact bonds (one in pre-launch and one in implementation phase), and a programme to help strengthen capabilities of non-profits to measure and deliver outcomes. Job purpose This job will contribute to programme management work within our Social Finance Practice in India Main Responsibilities This role includes two key areas of work: supporting the Social Finance Manager on coordination and delivery of a new impact bond and support on the overall social finance function in South Asia. Programme Management Support on the New Skilling India Impact Bond: Supporting the Social Finance Manager to successfully manage the delivery and operations of our new impact bond. This will include, but not limited to:- Support on coordination and management of stakeholders- Ensuring all donor reporting requirements are met in a timely manner - Support on monitoring / evaluation and learning agenda requirements, in collaboration with partners- Support on programme financials and budgets, working with British Asian Trust internal finance team and other programme partners- Support to the Social Finance Manager on all governance and Board actions- Active support in management of all legal and safeguarding requirements - Support to the Social Finance Manager on any other requirements to ensure successful delivery of British Asian Trusts role as Transaction Manager. Other Social finance programmes, thought leadership & new business development: - Manage the delivery of British Asian Trusts outcome readiness project with support from the Social Finance Analyst. This will include working with Social Finance Manager and Social Finance Analyst on creating and delivering on detailed workplans, supporting on programme expansion plans, working closely with external project partners and ensuring delivery of all programme deliverables.- Support on other upcoming projects including toolkits, research publications and events. - Support on research for any new programme design and business development prospects- Working with Social Finance Manager and Executive Director Social on short pieces of research/other publications (for e.g., blogs, articles in journals, speeches, speaking notes etc.). - Coordination and management of events for the Social Finance function with support from the Social Finance Analyst- Working on any new projects that assist in delivering targets in the Social Finance team- Consistently demonstrating the values and principles of British Asian Trust in all its activities job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Job-related knowledge, skills, and experience We think you will be a successful candidate if you have: - At least 5 years of work experience in a fast-paced environment (i.e., management consulting / social finance / impact investing), demonstrating a consistent ability to deliver against project plans on time.- A confident facilitator to coordinate discussions between multiple stakeholders and partners independently and ability to be innovative and solutions-oriented under pressure- Excellent track record of time management, systems organization, and follow-up- Proficiency in managing financials / budgets and ensuring project payments and finances are managed accurately and on time. Ideally should have worked with financial models before. - Proficiency in working with storylines / analyses to put together compelling / high-quality slide presentations- Demonstrate impeccable communication skills (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills (listening/empathy); ideal candidate would have previously worked on thought leadership pieces with some experience of working on communications and narratives.- Strong understanding of the Indian development sector (education / livelihoods / health sector preferable); Ideal candidate would also have experience of working on evaluations and on safeguarding related topics.- Agility and flexibility towards evolving responsibilities and project pivots / changes- Collaborative and ability to working with global / cross cutting teams- Critical thinker and a high integrity team player with hands-on attitude- Committed to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment and a good fit with British Asian Trust values and approach.This job opening was posted long time back.
