Job Description

As we continue to innovate and adapt to the fast-paced digital media landscape, we are seeking a dynamic, creative, and strategic individual to lead our UI/UX Design team.Role OverviewWere seeking an experienced Head of UI/UX Design to transform our digital user experiences into engaging, accessible, and easy-to-navigate platforms for our readership. This leader will be responsible for setting our design direction, establishing robust design systems, and nurturing a culture of user-centric design across the organization.Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement UI/UX design strategies that align with and support our business objectives. Lead a team of 10 UX designers, UX researchers and Visual designers providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight on multiple HT digital websites and. Apps. Work closely with editorial, product, engineering, and marketing teams to create holistic designs and ensure their successful implementation. Facilitate user research and usability testing, using insights gathered to optimize designs and improve overall user experience. Establish and maintain scalable design systems and guidelines to ensure consistent and cohesive user experiences across our platforms. Stay abreast of UI/UX trends and industry developments, integrating relevant ideas and techniques into our design strategies. Advocate for users within the organization, ensuring that their needs are central to our design and product development processes.Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors degree in design, Computer Science, or a related field with atleast 7-10 years of experience in UI/UX design, and a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role. A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-cantered design and a deep understanding of design principles and techniques. Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools. Experience in user research and usability testing methodologies. Able to align stakeholders with data & design principles. Strong understanding of responsive design and mobile-first principles. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web design coding languages.
