Data Operations team within Big data platform Engineering (BPE) is responsible for data pipeline reliability and the data infrastructure that powers all offline jobs and data analytics in PP.   • Responsible for driving large cloud migration programs to target by interacting with PayPal application owner teams
  • Collect application owner / customer team requirements for movement to cloud
  • Partner with customers in various geo-locations across the world to plan and prepare for migration
  • Provide technical advice based on understanding of PayPal s technology ecosystem and cloud capabilities
  • Optimize customer experience by focusing on quick problem solving to enable cloud migration
  • Document and update program guidelines, frequently asked questions and recommendations for customer teams
  • Ensure continuous improvement in application owner team interface processes while keeping an eye on high priority action items
  • Develop scalable processes to build customer pipeline for achieving program goals
  • Provide technical support for platform rails built and implemented
  • Fulfill service requests received from customers across multiple channels within pre-defined SLAs across environment setup, onboarding to EDP platforms and Triage
  • Organize and execute office hours and other periodic connects with customer teams
  • Execution Excellence and ability to get things done regardless of anything getting in the way
  • Possess deep Technical Knowledge to have meaningful conversations and challenge the team constructively during whiteboarding and design discussions
  • Is a customer champion and collaborates well with other teams with willingness for win-win discussions
  • Should be highly motivated, results-oriented self-starter, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, should have appetite to learn and be flexible to pick up new technology and deliver successful results with minimal guidance
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Min 10+ years of work experience and 5 years of working experience in Big Data technologies, 2+ years of Cloud experience
  • Strong experience in interfacing with customer and engineering teams to collect requirements and dependencies
  • Strong Understanding and working experience in Linux Systems.
  • Strong critical thinking ability to assess complex problems, analyze options, navigate diverse perspectives and develop optimal/acceptable solutions
  • Experience in one of cloud technologies AWS, Azure, GCP. GCP is strong preference.
  • Fundamental Knowledge on technologies like Teradata, Hadoop, GCP Dataproc, GCP Bigquery
  • Proficient in Development using either of Shell, Python or Java is a mandate skill
  • Understanding of DevOps Philosophy is preferred
  • Knowledge on ITSM and tools like Service Now is nice to have
  • Good understanding on Big Data Applications is a big plus
