Job Description

The Red Hat Application Services Business team is looking for a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for technical product marketing of Red Hat s cloud-native runtime frameworks and services, including Quarkus, OpenJDK, Data Grid, and beyond. You will also be involved in the planning and carrying out of the releases and new launches of our offerings, prioritizing and communicating their requirements in order to guide development, supporting the field team in advanced sales opportunities, performing competitive reviews and analysis, and working with partners. As a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will actively contribute to the overall company strategy and work closely with engineering, marketing, support, sales, and field teams to ensure the success of our offerings. You will engage with open source communities that support our container initiatives, including Kubernetes, Quarkus, Infinispan, Spring, Keycloak, MicroProfile, and more. You will work closely with Red Hats cloud provider partners, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Google, and IBM. You ll need to have excellent communication and teamwork skills. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Regularly meet with product management to understand and prioritize features and solutions definitions based on market demand
  • Ensure that marketing plans align with market directions and support the roadmap and releases for our offerings
  • Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market engagements like roadshows, workshops, webinars, demos of solutions and offerings, and industry and partner events
  • Assist pre and post-sales efforts in high-touch accounts worldwide by close engagement with field sales and services
  • Jointly create technical marketing collateral with marketing teams, including technical presentations, whitepapers, how-to guides, and case studies
  • Support various awareness and demand generation activities like blogs, demos, workshops, and videos
  • Create and carry out solutions demos for external audiences
  • Guide technical expertise and vision in support of the business
  • Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint value propositions
  • Collaborate with other teams to create technical marketing proof points specific to performance benchmarks and reference architectures
  • Provide technical product training to professional services consultants, sales engineers, and solutions architects
  • Serve as a point of contact with the upstream, open source communities that work on Red Hat Middleware offerings
Required skills
  • 5-7 years of experience in technical product marketing or product management within commercial software companies
  • Experience with and appreciation for working on teams with diverse opinions and perspectives
  • Experience articulating the technical product value proposition and promoting offerings internally and externally
  • Experience creating and carrying out technical presentations and demos for customers and external audiences
  • Experience creating technical marketing collateral including technical presentations, whitepapers, how to guides, and case studies
  • Solid understanding of software and application development processes
  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelors or masters degree, preferably in computer science or engineering; MBA is a plus
The following are considered a plus:
  • Experience with Java, OpenJDK, SpringBoot, Micronaut, micro-services, and cloud-native technologies
  • Experience with Java programming and with open source community processes
  • Experience working as a software developer or architect
