Job Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Modifies and/or constructs molds, mold components, tools, jigs and fixtures utilizing metal working machinery.
    • Understands form fit and function in tool construction.
    • Performs close-tolerance machining using detailed blueprints, drawings and sketches.
    • Uses precision measuring instruments in the fabrication of various metals and plastic tools and parts.
    • Performs accurate layout of tolerances and angles required to complete assignments.
    • Computes dimensions involving curvature and compound angles.
    • Performs extremely close-tolerance machining working from complex detailed blueprints, drawings and sketches or instruction from engineering.
    • Recommends design improvements and/or substitutions of material as required.
    • Identify and resolve potential safety hazards in the work area.
    Education and Experience:
    • Education: High School or Equivalent
    • Equivalent Experience 5-7 Mold Shop experience preferably within plastics injection molding.
    • Experience:6-10 years
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Extensive knowledge of plastic injection mold making, mold-manufacturing industry.
    • Knowledge of and/or experience in blueprint reading
    • Ability to use precision measuring instruments in the fabrication and verification of machining in various tooling metals and electrode carbon.
    • Ability to use hand tools associated with machining metals.
    • Ability to run CNC driven machinery
    • Ability to read write and communicate and comprehend and follow written procedures
