Describe the DepartmentVestas Power Solutions, Nacelle Module is responsible for developing, verifying, and industrializing wind turbines and related service products. It is here that we lay Vestas technical- and technological foundation for staying the global leader in wind energy by continuously reducing the Cost of Energy.Nacelle Engineering currently consists of around 200 highly skilled employees, primarily situated in Denmark and in Porto and with local/remote teams in China. The department is accountable for the Nacelle Module converting the mechanical energy from the wind turbine rotor into electrical energy. The Nacelle Module consists of main components such as the Front ( Casting, Yaw gear & Motor), Rear ( Weldment, Access package, Cover enclosure), Cooler Top ( Cooling & conditioning) and Transportation of Nacelle.We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Lead Engineer for the Nacelle Quality, reporting in Chennai, we have a global team. specializing in the development and product maintenance of Nacelle Components for the above System. Responsibilities will focus on localization, sales support, and aftersales projects like continuous improvement, production and service support as well as cost out activities with priorities centered on project and work package execution in close collaboration with the R&D headquarters in DK/PT.Many of the activities also require the involvement of external partners such as consultancy networks or suppliers, and this aspect requires a true team member with a combination of good technical competences, solid communication skills and a commercial mindset, and not least with a distinct ability to - and motivation for - driving technical and complex projects forward. You will become part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for the delivery of work packages and design solutions to the entire Nacelle Module.We value initiative, trustworthiness, and the right balance between creativity and quality in all our solutions. You will benefit from an environment working at a high professional level and with a solid technical commitmentResponsibilitiesAssist the team to Maintain and provide life-cycle support to existing products following principles of the Vestas Engineering Change Management (ECM) process. Examples are cost-out initiatives and product optimizationsAssist the team in Support our Sales Business by handling CIM Projects with FEA background in Structural Analysis, Bolt load verificationAssist the team in Support global localization and local content projectsAssist the team in Provide general business support to internal stakeholders such as Global Sourcing, Manufacturing, and the Service organizationAssist the team to Support Post Production issues, design changes & implementation, Business Activities, Non-Conformity reportsSupport, build a dashboard in Jira software & maintaining the reportsQualificationsBachelor or Masters degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience of less than 5 year in Design and Development within Wind Turbine, Aerospace, or Heavy Industries or any Product DevelopmentProfound knowledge in calculation tools, Mandatory FEA basics, MS office Experience, Excel VBA programmingMust have Good understanding of product development processesExposure in CAD-/PLM/PDM systems such as Pro E, PDM-Link, and SAPDynamic, Self Driven, Good Communication skills (spoken and written) requiredCompetenciesYour pragmatical skills in combination with your technical and value chain understanding enable you to identify and prioritize design drivers and to find the optimum technical solution within the given boundariesThanks to your enthusiastic and focused personality, you achieve your results by setting the direction, defining and prioritizing work, and making sure that necessary decisions are takenWith your structured and organized way of working your plan and prioritize the tasks while at the same time keeping the focus on the overall targetsYour organizational and communicative skills allow you to achieve your results through international and multi-disciplinary teams that involve colleagues from various parts of Vestas as well as supply partners globallyWhat We OfferWhat We Offer Required We offer great opportunities for professional and personal growth in an inspiring environment.
