Job Description

Principle Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategy, plan and priorities in line with company strategies and priorities.
  • Advise and support the CEO in negotiation, agreement and setting of financial and operational business plans, targets and KPIs and the conduct of the QBR process.
  • Monitor business performance against agreed plans, targets and budgets, working with the CEO and leadership team to identify and take timely and appropriate action to address performance issues and/or capitalise on opportunities arising.
  • Reviewing, assessing, challenging and making recommendations on business plans and cases to ensure they are financially sound and commercially appropriate.
  • Lead and contribute towards identifying, planning and executing organisational transactions (e.g. mergers, disposals, acquisitions, corporate restructuring, etc.) to deliver optimum tax, financial and business benefits.
  • Provide a direction towards the development and operation of a financial management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision-making at all levels
  • Leading the development and operation of a proportionate Financial Control environment that ensures:
  • - Legislative and Regulatory Compliance, including Statutory reporting
  • - Financial risks are well managed in line with good practice.
  • - Awareness of and adherence to good financial practice.
  • Ensuring appropriate reserves and continued availability of capital to meet agreed business priorities and satisfy all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to exploit increased synergy and standardization of financial processes, practices and services across the Business in order to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Chartered Accountant with 15+ years of experience into accounting ideally with Insurance Industry (preferably with a General Insurance company)
  • Technical competence e.g. recognised professional accounting qualifications.
  • Well versed with the various accounting norms (IndAS / IFRS) etc.
  • He/she must possess strong leadership qualities and ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders and be comfortable with a high degree of multi-tasking.
