Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:The Custody & Clearing Operations team consists of circa 900 staff providing operational services to Transaction Banking Securities Services clients across more than 50 markets. Core functions in Custody & Clearing Operations include Settlements, Corporate Actions & Support Services covering functions such as static data, reporting & billing. Custody & Clearing Group Operations own the global process standards for these functions, including the design of operational processes to meet new client / product / control demand, maintenance of global procedure standards and oversight of the process control environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for defining a logical set of activities that form the basis of core components of CC Operations services & process universe, aligned to support the International Custody (IC) product suite which includes monitoring of clients cash flows, FX repatriation, Overdraft and failed trade resolution along with account opening and maintenance IC clients. Support Global process & governance standards across 4 HUBS of IC for the defined set of operational functional activities - to ensure efficiency & effectiveness of service delivery to our Clients in accordance with client SLAs, in compliance with all regulations, controls and internal policy requirements and in line with the Target Operating Model. Support Group Ops Settlements & Corporate Actions Leads in Standardization of Operational processes & governance standards for the defined set of operational functional activities - to ensure efficiency & effectiveness of service delivery across existing foot print markets supporting Global Custody clients, in compliance with all regulations, controls and internal policy requirements and in line with the Target Operating Model. Suppport Group Ops Settlement Lead in design, maintenance & publication to all countires of the documentation of global process standards, including Department Operating Instructions ( DOIs ), Operational Risk Framework ( ORF ), process maps, capacity models. Provide general SME support and guidance to 4 Hubs and footprint countries offering Internatioanl Custody. Strong Problem Solving skills i.e support Group Ops Settlement Lead in analysis and resolution of issues presented by clients and HUB Operations and communicate in a timely manner. Escalate issues and problems appropriately. Lead relevant SME forums / workshops, stakeholder engagement and utilise other communication channels to ensure that process standards are kept current, are complete, comprehensive and clearly documented and well understood & fully implemented across all Countries. Perform detailed reviews of operations processes and related risks and controls including event reviews, thematic analysis and deep dive analysis. Review output from the ORF independent control checks, self-identified risk issues and any audit points to ensure accuracy of issue description and that management action plans are effective at addressing the underlying risks and efficient in their delivery. Represent this risk view at global governance forums. Review themes that may require update to global process standards. Identify opportunities to streamline, automate & eliminate operations processes. Work with Change Management teams to ensure such opportunities are accurately captured in the investment governance process. Leverage industry best practice and seek insight into developing trends which will have a bearing on the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of the services being required for International Custody Operations. KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Transaction Banking Securities Services (TB SS), including Product, Sales & Implementation Securities Services Technology and Operations (SS ITO) teams globally Operational Risk Groups Other SCB departments such as Finance, Legal, Compliance, TaxQualifications and SkillsMarket Knowledge : Strong understanding Custody Operations, the nature of services provided, the client base and key associated risks. Min. 10-12 years of experience in International Custody Operations with min of 4 years in supervisory/ Lead role. Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the firm operates. Self-motivated individual with great communication skills. Business Strategy and Model Awareness and understanding of the International Custody products and models, as appropriate to the role. Track record in delivering continuous improvement.
