Job Description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Global Manger: Performance Management Services, the successful candidate with d esign and develop user web and mobile applications by establishing requirements, executing A/B testing, wireframe prototyping, deploying, and managing related ongoing operations throughout development life cycle;

The position will be a matrix role inside the Building Services Parts department, as such, the successful candidate will be expected to interact regularly with Armstrong s global BSP, IT, and Engineering department staff in India, USA, Europe, and Latin America. The candidate will play a key role in developing and owning various web and mobile applications across the Armstrong organization.

Responsibilities:

• Complete application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, activities;

• Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality

• Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.

• Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

• Design and execute functional and regression testing of software builds

• Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

• Maintaining ongoing software documentation

• Implementing contingency plans in case the website goes down

• Prioritizing and Maintaining enhancing features roadmap list for all web and mobile applications

• Work within an agile, scrum-based environment

Requirements:

• Must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions standards.

• Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.

• Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST/SOAP)

• Must have experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Java, ASP.NET, Python, PHP

• Experience with test-driven development, unit testing, and writing easily readable code

• Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues

Preferred:

• Experience with TypeScript, Ruby, C++, JQuery and APIs is a strong plus

• Knowledge of PHP5/MySQL or similar, with database management experience is a strong plus

• Experience with Git source control system a strong plus

• with a familiarity of machine learning and deep learning. Knowledge in TensorFlow and PyTorch is a strong plus

• understanding of UX design considerations a plus

Education:

• University or College degree in Engineering/Computer Science, or a related field with applicable industry experience.

Experience And Background

• 5+ years of expertise in developing web and mobile applications

• 3+ years of software quality, product testing and/or development engineering experience overall

• 1+ year of experience in Server-side testing and scripts/test automation development engineering experience

• Experience with VSTS, or equivalent, agile Project Management software suites, as well as experience with agile project management industry standards

• Knowledge of best practices in Project Management (agile and waterfall) and SDLC management

• Ability to simultaneously work well independently and within a cross-globe team environment with other subject matter experts, analysts, developers

• Extensive experience with all aspects of Requirements Management: Business Process Modeling, Use Case modeling, use case specifications, data flow diagram, as-is process mapping, functional and non-functional requirements and interface design.
