Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategy:

  • Build a strategic mindset to lead or be part of strategic projects.
  • Continuously look for improvements across the lifecycle from risk, client service and efficiency perspective
Business:
  • Build a strong understanding of Business Functions / Industry trends & platforms
Processes:
  • Plan and implement strategies that will fulfil the mission and the goals of the department efficiently and effectively
  • Establish and maintain relevant controls to monitor the seamless operation of the department
  • Ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organizations management team that provides leadership and direction
  • To ensure a smooth, timely, accurate and effective transaction processing for Financial Market Operations
  • Ensure involvement of self and team in project and process enhancements
  • Identify areas of improvement in the process, initiate dialogues with the relevant stake holders for implementation of the change post agreement with Unit head
  • Maintain healthy relationship with all the stakeholders
  • Upholding the Values of the Group and Company at all times
  • Understand and manage the day to day operations for the various product businesses
  • Delegate workload across the desk efficiently to yield maximum staff capacity
  • Adhere Zero Tolerance policy
  • Ability to identify, mitigate and eliminate risks in processes
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
  • Encourage clear and open communication channels within the Team
  • Management of production workflow ensuring all transactions are issued within the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Assist in production of various reports to be presented to Senior Managements
  • Cascade and support management s visions to the team members
Risk Management:
  • Ensure periodic submission of Key Performance & Risk based metrics which enable internal clients (Business, Product & Country Heads) to demonstrate effective governance and oversight on outsourced processes
  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness becomes apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees
  • Audit readiness all times. Zero tolerance on repeat audit findings
  • Reduced Operational losses (count & value) and External errors
  • Focus on Near misses and improve on Root cause analysis
Governance:
  • Developing, implementing and ensuring adherence to the Supervisory oversight by Country heads. Contribute in SRM meetings coordinated by Country management on service performance as defined in the Service Level Agreements
  • Embed the Group s values and code of conduct to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture
  • Adequate governance and control procedures to be in right place
  • Ensure timeliness of responses across clients, internal and external stakeholders, audits or compliance teams
  • Build a strong metrics giving the risk and client service level issues
Key Stakeholders:
  • Dealing room, Middle Office, Risk, Global Reconciliation Unit, Other operation teams, In country teams
Other Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to embed Here for good and Group s brand and values in the unit.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:
  • >12 years relevant experience in any Banking operations
  • Prior people manager experience. Should have handled a medium size team
Education:
  • Under graduation / Post Graduation with good scores / GPA and /or Professional qualifications (MBA / CA / ICWA)
