Job Description

This role in Global Banking Technology is within CECF for the position of Full stack Java engineer. Position will be key to strategic programme to deliver enhancements and provide maintenance support for CECF suite of applications, of which WorkBench is the main application.WorkBench is the single platform for all client-facing staff to manage their client relationships and perform activities on behalf of their clients. It is designed to provide superior client management by aggregating everything we know about our clients, automates key business processes and provides a platform for collaboration across all businesses in the Wholesale Bank.Description of the Role

  • Independently contribute to wireframe, design & development of UI solutions
  • Collaborate with BA/UX team in common controls developments, prototyping
  • Improve code quality statistics, participate/drive code reviews and continuously reduce technical debt
  • Specifying the UI specific use cases
  • Study existing engineering processes and contribute to improvements to drive up efficiencies
  • Collaborate with teams globally to deliver, present ideas and innovate
  • Model behaviours that facilitate Agile delivery
  • Exhibit passion for client experience with a user-first mindset
PreferredCandidate Profile: Ideal candidate must have proven credentials of delivering in world class engineering teams. With a bachelor s degree in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent discipline, he/she must have relevant experience fulfilling responsibilities of the position. Must be a confident self-starter with ability to collaborate and devise solutions. Relevant industry certifications are an added plus. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks is required.Core Competencies: Strongly Desired competencies:
  • Strong programming and hands-on skills in Java, EmberJS/AngularJS/Advance JavaScripting
  • Strong in UI development using ReactJS/ReactNative/Redux javascript frameworks
  • Good fundamental skills on Unit testing and code coverage
  • Development experience in Java
  • Good knowledge in open source frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, Aspects and Apache Libraries (Camel/ActiveMQ/Commons)
  • Good knowledge in dependency injections
  • Understanding on tools like Jenkins/Go-CD, Git/Stash, JIRA, Maven, NodeJS
  • Application performance tuning, application performance analysis and tuning, analysing performance metrics
  • Hands-on experience on Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience with automated unit testing
Preferred competencies:
  • Hands-on skills in J2EE specifications like JAX-RS, JAX-WS
  • Hands on in developing mobile applications using either iOS-Native or React-Native
  • Mobile Apps development skill would be added advantage
  • Hands-on knowledge in application servers/containers like JBoss Fuse/WebSphere/Weblogic
  • Oracle or SQL Server PL/SQL development and designing data model.
  • DevOps Tools and CI/CD Processes Jenkins, Git, GitFlow, Jira, BitBucket etc.
  • Understanding of continuous build concept and usage with maven, sonarqube or other related tools
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Good to have experience in containerization technologies - Docker, Kubernetes
