Neustar is looking for a Senior Manager experienced in leading development teams that are focused on building analytical platforms. The MMM development and testing team are made up of 6-10 technologists who have end to end ownership of the MMM product. The team builds and manages Meridian (the data management platform), MAP (the modeling platform) and the Strategy App (the customer facing application) a planning application used by marketers for strategic planning. The teams charter includes development, testing and maintenance. Candidates must have a history of building and managing high performance teams, and building products in a dynamic environment. The product and business teams are based in the US. Success is achieved by bringing together functional teams (product, architecture, development and test) and providing a shared vision that focuses on a great customer experience. Here s How You ll Make A Difference: Neustar services utilize a wide range of technologies. Candidates must be able to quickly adapt to new technologies and architectures. In addition to a broad technical background (compute, network, software and database), the ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: Analytical platforms like MMM are evolving and the needs to operate a platform at scale change. It is extremely important for the manager to be highly knowledgeable in key areas, but also not be afraid to learn new areas and stretch whatever need arises. Excellent understanding of data base internals and systems development. Analytical platforms are extensions to databases Worked on Java/ J2EE technology with exposure to frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate 10 years experience of full stack as well as Big Data Experience A plus will be knowledge of front end technologies like Angular JS, Node JS and D3 JS Another plus will be knowledge of testing best practices, testing frameworks like Selenium, Test NG and knowledge of test automation Building and managing an analytical platform require highly technical skills. The candidate should possess the ability to hire, retain and manage engineers of such talent. This requires skills building, morale management, succession planning and a commitment to leadership. Candidates must have a history of growing technologists and strengthening teams. This includes the creation of personal development plans for direct reports as well as the management of contractors (when necessary). Candidates must be willing to take a shared responsibility for building relationships between teams and integrating diverse talents into a high performing organization. The candidate should contribute to improving Engineering discipline / process and through the Software engineering experience using Agile. MMM is crucial to Neustar s business and is one of the key divisions within Neustar. The product and business teams are located in the US. The job requires collaboration with teams in many functional disciplines based in the US and will also require occasional travel. Candidates must have superb communication skills that include the ability to deconstruct unknowns, clarify ambiguity, document requirements, define acceptance criteria and write policy documents. The ability to develop strategic plans, develop and execute on continuous improvement activities and ensure commitments are met will be critical to success.
