Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTIONThis position is responsible for developing and maintaining technical courseware (pre and post General Availability) for VMware customers, partners, and internal technical stakeholders. Course development includes traditional instructor led training through lecture and labs in addition to self-paced eLearning content.JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop customer facing Technical Training Content for VMware vRealize product line for Instructor Led, OnDemand, and eLearning course formats.
  • Design and Develop Hands-on Labs for technical training curriculum.
  • Participate in retrospective meetings of courses developed and provide feedback to improve courseware.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand roadmap, product design, and usability for customers.
  • Collaborate with VCIs, PM, TPMs and Engineering SMEs to validate course design and content.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, updating, and maintaining existing courseware and labs.
  • Participate in ongoing meetings with stakeholders regarding project status.
  • Work with multiple VMware teams regarding consistency of training materials.
  • Assist in interviewing and selecting new technical content developers.
  • Mentor junior content developers and provide support to other developers.
  • Traveling time of 10% may be needed, as per business requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • 3-4 years experience developing technical training materials.
  • 3-4 years experience in the technical industry preferably with a focus on Cloud Computing or automation technologies.
  • Good working knowledge of VMware technologies including VMware vRealize.
  • Knowledge of systems administration in Linux/UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Experience using instructional design models, including:
    • Instructional design principles and methodologies.
    • Analyzing audience needs and tying them to business requirements.
    • Designing and developing student and instructor guides.
    • Creating tests and practical lab activities.
  • Experience with content development tools, eLearning tools, and methodologies including PowerPoint, Word, Camtasia, Xyleme, Storyline, etc.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and using them in developing courseware.
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, and requires minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Ability to write scripts is an added advantage
  • Good understanding of Containers and Kubernetes technologies are an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of public cloud, private cloud, and monitoring tools are an added advantage.
  • VCP-DCV, VCP-CMA, or similar certification.
  • Public Cloud Certification (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
