Job Description

1) Inspects and checks equipment for proper operating condition, makes necessary adjustments, logs test readings, and maintains, repairs, or replaces all essential equipment parts.2) Performs miscellaneous maintenance duties as required.3) To carry out equipment breakdowns effectively & efficiently.4) To plan and carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime.5) Read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.6) Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.7) Determines the extent of mechanical problems and replaces or rebuilds equipment based upon RCA and quality of equipment operation considerations.8) Performs general mechanical overhaul and repair work on vehicles and equipment.9) Inspects, adjusts and replaces components and related parts including valves, pistons, main bearing assemblies, and cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.10) Repairs and overhauls transmissions, differentials, front and rear axle assemblies and ignition systems.11) Welds and modifies equipment and fabricates parts as needed or as directed.12) Inspect, repairs, and reassembles air compressors, pumps, and related equipment; repairs, rebuilds, and install hydraulic jacks, pumps, cylinders, and controls.13) Operates standard testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions; drive to sites to repair equipment.14) Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.15) Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.16) Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations.17) Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.18) Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.19) Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.20) Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.21) Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.22) Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.23) Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.24) Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.25) Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.26) To train, supervise and guide your subordinates to grow and understand the Reach Stacker operations and site handling while ensuring that each one handles his job well and independently.
