Job Requisition: Software Engineer II IPI Team Primary Location: Bangalore The Senior Engineer of DNA technical software engineer responsible to design and develop the next generation of data processing on Hadoop/ Spark platform. The technical leader in this role will work closely with various teams including data acquisition, data products & data sciences to build the web services platform exposing these services to the end customers. The role is based out of India at the Neustars office in Bangalore. This role will report to the Manager Software Engineer. Responsibilities: Build a holistic understanding of our data assets, its customer, the BI data infrastructure & environment, and business goals Analyze large data sets to gain an understanding of the data, discover data anomalies, and look for ways to leverage data in support of organizational goals and initiatives. Use big data technologies to build predictive systems on big data platforms (Hadoop Ecosystem) Analyze and validate data using statistical tools to answer product and business questions Use data to create models that depict trends in diverse data sets Perform data manipulations such as data imports, wrangling, exports and updates Assist with data mining, API development and connectivity with 3rd party data vendors Ability to explain statistical approaches/ models used, rationale/ merits of different approaches, results and interpretation to team members Experience building data pipelines Experience working with large data sets 10TB Experience and Qualifications: 5- 7 years of experience in building applications in core java 2 years experience in building and designing highly distributed enterprise applications Strong back end engineering background, design skills, data structure, algorithm Strong data interpretation, visualization and presentation skills Self- motivated, agile, excellent collaborative skills and ability to influence diverse audiences Exposure in SQL, Scala, Spark Must have desire to work in a team environment yet be self- directed, proactive, and action- oriented. Basic knowledge of DNS, Internet protocols, VPN, web servers, and Real- Time Proxy Experience. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Fraud & Risk experience Experience with Big Data, Hadoop, NoSQL databases Experienced in Security Risk and understanding the technology gaps Experienced in analyzing web traffic (HTTP headers etc) Team Leader experience is plus About Us Every day, the world generates roughly 2. 5 quadrillion bits of data.
