You will also have challenging opportunities to cross-collaborate with inter-disciplinary product and engineering teams to solve some of the unique challenges in multi-channel shopping experience.The MX Payments team at Walmart Labs, Bengaluru, is focused on building the best payment and omni-channel experiences for our customers. All the work we do @Walmart Global Tech eventually benefits our customers, our operations & our associates and enables customers to Save Money, Live Better.A payments platform including wallets is a top priority and growth area for Walmart in Mexico, to enable frictionless experience to pay at retail, eCommerce and for other service providers for bill payments. This is a unique opportunity to setup a new product portfolio focusing on platform thinking and building ecosystem APIs riding on payments.Your ResponsibilitiesAs a key architect/ of the team you will be expected to design, build, test and deploy stable, scalable and simple solutions.You need to exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering, and management across different geographic locations.Create and recommend solution design options factoring in requirements, standards, and current infrastructure environment. Communicate and present solutions to the other stakeholders.Guide and mentor other members in the team to promote highly technical and self-sufficient teams.Work very closely with various business stakeholders at various locations in Mexico and India to drive the development and execution of multiple business plans and technologies.Improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes.Mentor junior members in the team and provide them guidance on design and writing high quality code.Share ideas and provide key inputs to the product and leadership team on product/platform roadmap.Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering, and management teams across different geographic locations.Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.Your QualificationsAn Engineering Degree - B.E/B.Tech/MS/PhD in any stream Computer Science preferred.15+ years of experience in software product development engineering.8+ years of experience with Java (Spring MVC, Hibernate) in building scalable applications.8+ years in database modelling and design.Must have launched at least one server application from conceptualization to production.Mandatory SkillsHands-on knowledge in designing and building API platforms with documentation, sandboxes, monitoring etc.Hands-on knowledge in designing, writing and reviewing code in Java, Spring etc.Hands-on knowledge in designing and modelling data in RDBMS. No-SQL expertise is a plus.Hands-on expertise in one scripting language like Python or Ruby.Hands-on familiarity with Unix/Linux CLI environment.Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms. Microsoft Azure is a plus.A good technical mindset and product development driven experience.Passion to seek and evangelize tools to help development, testing and deployment, including automation.Passion for quick learning and adapting in a fast-paced global environment.Penchant to look at production and identify technical requirements for product improvements.Strong sense of ownership, focus on quality, responsiveness, efficiency and innovation.Good verbal and written communication skills.Desirable SkillsNoSQL databasesUI (android/iOS/JS frameworks)Our Ideal CandidateOur ideal candidate is a customer-centric, sensitive to design, fluent in analytics, energetic, self-motivated individual focused on solving customer problems.
