If you re inspired by the opportunity to solve complex problems at scale and make a difference for our customers and members, join us.Your OpportunityAs a Software Engineer, you would drive the next generation Walmart retail systems for SAM s club platform and services by conceptualizing, designing, building and deploying highly scalable and robust SOA solutions. You will use your engineering experience and technical skill to materially affect how millions of orders are processed and fulfilled every day. You will build solutions that enable sophisticated automation and workflows. You will implement cutting edge models and algorithms that operate on massive amounts of data. You will develop high performance and scalable solutions that extract, transform, and load big data. You will help the team leverage and contribute to open source technologies.Position DescriptionDuties: Develop innovative strategies, processes, and best practices. Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects. Ensure business needs are being met. Provide technical guidance and participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects. Contribute in the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design. Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Support business objectives. Troubleshoot business and production issues. Utilize industry research to improve Wal-Marts technology environment. Design and develop highly scalable solutions using latest cutting edge technologies working in agile fashion. Interact with Walmart/SAM s Club engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.Our Ideal CandidateYou have a deep interest and passion for technology. You love writing and owning codes and enjoy working with people who will keep challenging you at every stage. You have strong problem solving, analytic, decision-making and excellent communication with interpersonal skills. You are self-driven and motivated with the desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven agile environment with varied responsibilities. You are someone who is extremely approachable, good team player, adapts to changing environments and deal with ambiguity.Minimum QualificationsYou hold a Bachelor s degree in computer science or related discipline with an experience of 6-10 years. Possess strong computer science knowledge in algorithms, data structures, database concepts. Thorough knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and experience implementing RESTFUL Web Services. Good in Java programming and JVM internals (concurrency, multi threading). Solid design and coding skills in Java and/or Spring framework. You would preferably be in the ecommerce/Retail systems or mobile software space. Experience building high-performance, highly-available and scalable systems. Extensive hands-on experience building services using these technologies (Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, JAX). Strong knowledge in data structures, SQL technologies. Experience with storage technologies such as MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Hive, Cassandra, Hadoop and Kafka are good to have.,
