Job Description

Description :Transform the way the world runs networksThe OpportunityAs the Senior Manager, Research and Development, you will lead a team of software engineers who are responsible for the design and development of software features in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. The team works closely with Architects, Technical Leads, senior engineers and QA Engineers to deliver innovative features. You will be responsible for the team in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and documentation. Managing the multiple priorities and workload of the team. Lead the team in defining the product requirements, ensuring they are met and analysis of outcomes to drive right results with strong recommendations on corrective action and ensure they are in effect to make quick course correction. Ability to roll up sleeves, and be hands-on with technical discussions and work with stakeholders like product managers, architects, managers and technical teams to deliver the product requirements per plan. Drive quality, on-time delivery and quick turn-around of the product deliveries with efficiencies, automation and defining proper workflows within the team.The Job

  • Manages a team of software engineers (both Dev & QA) responsible for product development/engineering functions relating to networking domain, data plane, analytics, and data science solutions and platform development.
  • Managing projects from initial concept to completion
  • Leading a high caliber team of software engineers in agile development environment
  • Responsible for new innovations and efficiency improvements
  • Technical design and approval
  • Software engineering standards, and principles
  • Input on prioritization of deliverables
  • Performance Management, Release management and on-time deliveries per commitments
What Skills You Bring
  • Minimum of 12 years of total experience in the industry and 2-3 years in project management experience in a leadership role Previous experience developing real-time embedded software
  • 1-5 years of experience in Software development using Java / C/C / JavaScript / Go / Python / TCL
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts and protocols TCP/IP and IP networking is required, experience with DPI would be an asset
  • Strong object oriented design skills in C and Python programming
  • Experience with ML/AI, data science, data engineering and data analysis tools like Tableau, Jupyter, or similar etc.
  • Experience with real time databases(Vertica), Postgres and SQL
  • Experience with FreeBsd, Unix, Linux, shell scripting, RedHat, CentOs, Openstack platforms would be an asset
  • Experience with virtualization, NFV, SDN, IoT, 5G, Mobile platforms would be an asset
  • Experience with GDB, Wireshark would be an asset
  • Experience with micro services, cloud, kubernetes, etc would be an asset
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-million-dollar software development projects on-time, on-budget with high quality
  • Able to assess the team and identify performance improvements and increase productivity to create a high performing team. Ability to build strong ownership levels across the team.
  • Also define workflows, adapt to market needs and build a strong domain experience with the team.
  • Ability to manage projects to ensure its successful delivery
  • Expertise working with cross functional leads like product managers, architects, managers and other stake holders is strongly required.
  • Excellent scope and expectation management skills required to meet the project objectives.
  • Any PMP, Agile, SAFe,etc Certifications are an asset
