Roles & Responsibilities: Responsible for design, development, implementation and maintenance of Business Intelligence (BI) reports / dashboards on Cognos platform Discuss with BA to define, understand and document new or enhanced reporting requirements. Translate business requirements into report/ dashboard/ cube specification documents that can be used for development Plan and schedule new reporting solution projects, including Package upgrades and performance optimization, Cognos Architects and Systems Operations personnel. Provide assistance to peer on the reporting tool for generation of reports and dashboards. Understand pre- designed insurance- specific target data models, meta data layer and data marts Ensure proper configuration management and change controls implemented in your sphere of influence Establish Quality Metrics and ensure its implementation .Requirements 6 - 7 years of related experience with at least last 3 years experience as a Report/ Cube Developer in developing packages, cubes, reports and dashboards using Cognos applications Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Transformer. Have hands on experience on Cognos 11.0 or above. Develop/ formulate Report Mapping Document (RMD) / Understand Report Requirement Document (RRD) for new/ enhanced reporting requirements. Need to understand source to target data flow Must have extensive experience of Understanding framework Package using Framework. Must have extensive experience of cubes (flat file format). Should have extensive knowledge of creating complex and creative visualization on report and analysis Studios. Should have extensive knowledge of schedulers and conditional formatting Have a good understanding of Back Up strategies/ Version Management. Performance Tuning Ability to code complex SQL(Views, Store procedures), perform Report SQL query optimization and Understand MDX Queries. Good understanding of folder structure and Structural management. Mentor team member on use of Cognos 11. Create or contribute to an information library or similar format/ forum to promote sharing of information with analysts. Good understanding of working P&C data model using Framework Manager. Ability to review Data Model/ Data Warehouse design, identify issues and suggest improvements Framework Manager mapping of facts and dimensions (Star Schema, Snowflake). Publishing packages - version management, security management, Cube. Ensure effective processes are in place to continuously refresh/ upgrade the Cognos Business Intelligence application and maintain proper change levels.,
