Job Description

As a Senior Automation QA Engineer, it will be responsible for quality assurance testing on drug discovery software projects, documenting and reporting on findings and system defects, while adhering to team deadlines and assigned deliverables. You will also be responsible for acting as a system and application expert, driving standard adherence, and recommending process improvements.The ideal candidate will be passionate about software development and technology, have demonstrable technical and problem-solving skills. The candidate will need to have a wide understanding of testing automation using development techniques and be able to build a testing framework and create and maintain tests that use that framework. Also, good knowledge of the full software development life cycle including Agile/Lean development processes will be required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Overall IT industry experience of 5 years
  • Strong web-focussed test automation skills (both front-end and back-end)
  • Effective communicator at all levels, excellent inter-personal skills, strong business focus
  • Highly self-motivated, confident to work on projects alone as well as in a team
  • An enthusiastic approach to extending knowledge and learning new skills
  • Strong commitment to quality of work and a good attention to detail
Expert in the following:
  • Developing GUI tests using Selenium Java
  • Developing API/Services tests using Rest-assured Java
  • Developing data consistency and validation tests using java or python scripts
  • Developing test using BDD using Gherkin/Cucumber
  • Test report tools: Allure, Cucumber reports
  • Writing SQL scripts to verify data in the database.
Have experience in:
  • Agile/Scrum Software development methodologies
  • Configuration Management tools: Jenkins/Hudson, Maven/Gradle experience
  • Version Control: Git or Bitbucket
  • Performance testing using JMeter or Gatling
  • JIRA
Nice to have:
  • Working with continuous integration environments
  • Release cycle of modern, Java-based web applications
  • Object-oriented software design patterns
