We are seeking a passionate automation QA engineer to join our team testing first-class, real-time pricing services which are key to the success of our trading platforms.As a highly experienced QA developer, the role will give you the chance to work with the low latency, ultra-fast middle-ware technologies. From day one you will be testing high volume, high-performance services where security, reliability, and accuracy are paramount. You will be enthusiastic about making contributions that help the team meet the challenges we face, delivering high-quality software within a complex business domain.The role will need you to draw on your experience in approaches such as Continuous Delivery and understand how and when to use TDD to deliver high-quality software that accurately represents the business domain. You will be comfortable working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes.Technology is a passion for you and you are interested in learning ideas and practices from across the industry by attending conferences, meetups, and putting your learning into practice. You understand that mastery is a journey and are committed to continual personal improvement that comes from a deep-seated desire to be the best you can be. Technology stack: JavaResponsibilities:

  • Work within the Quality Assurance team to test new functionality, as well as regression testing a multitude of different software applications
  • Building/extending testing framework around Java services including mocking of Java API s
  • New tests development in Java and maintenance of existing Test Automation
  • Configuration of Jenkins CI jobs
  • Interact with the Business and IT teams to ensure a suitable understanding of requirements and ensure test coverage
  • Raise and manage any defects identified throughout the software development life cycle
  • Contribute to the IG Group Quality Assurance strategy
  • Work as part of an Agile/Scrum development team
Criteria Experience and Skills Essential:
  • 5 years of professional experience writing test automation using java
  • Significant experience in automation of backend/middle ware applications using Java framework
  • Understanding of testing methodologies and their application, including UAT and System Testing
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Able to use necessary tools to debug problems with the software
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of software testing techniques
  • Good understanding of CI / CD Process Flow
  • Proficient in JAVA Programming and applying test automation
  • Web service Test Automation
  • Cucumber BDD Test Framework
  • Jenkins or Bamboo
  • Cross-platform testing experience
  • Experience of iterative/agile development methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban)
Desirable:
  • Build and Maintain test automation frameworks using JAVA.
  • Messaging technology Kafka and AMQ
  • Micro services Testing
