Thales is expanding its presence in India through the development a Group Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) , reinforcing its position as a leader in all its markets. Launching in early 2019 in Bengaluru , the ECC will expand Thales footprint in its core business areas and cement its long - standing relationship with India. This ECC , the first of its kind in India , will focus on hardware , software and systems engineering capabilities for both the civil and defence sectors. India , and in particular Bengaluru , was chosen as the location for the new ECC due to the existing ecosystem its proximity to the market , competence in research and development and abundance of skilled engineers. Qualifications: B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Electrical engineering or equivalent with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. Working experience in Avionics and/ or Defense systems is desirableTechnical Skills and Competencies: Support the Product Sustaining Engineering (PSE) team to help them accomplish their tasks required to maintain the overall performance of the Thales in - service LRUs. Support the detailed failure analysis of electronic and electro - mechanical assemblies of Thales LRUs and SRUs as well as the documentation thereof. Support the PSE team in analyzing problems , making recommendations , and implementing solutions. Implement related electrical , mechanical , and software disciplines to assist in the application of principles , theories , and concepts. Responsible for the maintenance of the PSE test lab and equipment. Learn to operate Thales system lab and repair / production benches and equipment. Support the maintenance and storage of the PSE Part - 43 hardware inventory. Support the test of software tools required for the analysis of LRU/ SRU performance KPIs (MTBF , MTBUR , Cost of Maintenance). Support the PSE Team in the development of monthly system reliability reports and presentations. Support PSE investigations and analysis required to mitigate LRU/ SRU performance issues based on performance KPIs (MTBF , MTBUR , Cost of Maintenance , NFF , Bad from stock , Chronic) , generically and customer by customer. Support and assist system/ software level troubleshooting during product deployment and in - service operations on a variety of IFE platforms. Support design update documentation and qualification of replacement components that have been deemed Obsolete or End of Life for out of production LRUs. Support maintenance of LRU Repair Center technical documentation: Service Bulletins , Aircraft and Component Maintenance Manuals , etc. Communicate LRU/ SRU performance and test issues clearly and concisely. Capable of operating standard off - the - shelf electronic lab equipment (oscilloscope , multi - meter , signal generators , etc.) Capable of interpreting mechanical and electrical wiring diagrams Capable of understanding LRU O.S. and Low Level SW design and concepts (LRU boot sequence , File system definition) and explaining how the SW utilizes the HW Proficient using a computer , Microsoft Office Suite and other office equipment Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Thales culture , that is , exhibit the values of Compliance , Respect , Innovation , Responsibility and Teamwork At Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
