This position is for the validation of Power management firmware (Pcode) for managing power/energy efficiently for Mobility/Client products, with focus on validating active power management, idle power management, thermal management. Successful candidate will be responsible for: - creating firmware validation strategy and test environment micro-architecture. - creating validation plan with detailed test scenarios, checkers, assertions leading to high quality firmware release - debugging of failures at both pre-silicon and post-silicon environments; and improving the debug infrastructure for firmware debug - technically leading the firmware validation team and being hands-on in tensilica or equivalent microcontroller based firmware validation, coding in C/C++ and if needed, assembly programming. - technical readiness and pathfinding of newer validation approachesQualificationso Prior Experience in SoC development / Embedded systems is mandatory. Exposure to CPU, Graphics, Media, Display, DDR, Imaging, Audio, IO systems is highly desired with strong expertise in any of these domains. o Minimum 5 years of experience in SoC/Embedded Systems with atleast 2+ years of firmware/software validation experience dealing with hardware level intricacies. o Proficient in Assembly programming/C/C++ and in a microcontroller environment (Tensilica/ARC/ARM Cortex M or similar). o Close interactions with multiple Performance/Compute critical IP to understand their Power management requirements & translating them to cutting edge algorithms for best in class Leakage/Dynamic power numbers o Knowledge of two or more power management features and functionality, including: power states/flows, power consumption, power delivery, reset sequence, OS power management, device power management and stability between power management subsystem/domains and other subsystems in the System setting o SW/HW Validation Experiences: unit / functional/ integration / exploratory o Debugging techniques local/remote, including profilers, debuggers, and system monitoring hardware desired. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills. o Should have worked in cross-functional teams and demonstrated experience in root cause analysis o Ability to learn new skills quickly and independently. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.,
