Job Description

  • looking for content writers with 3-5 years of experience writing teaching/informative content on a wide variety of topics for academic and corporate clients.
  • We are not looking for candidates who have primarily written for technical writing, SEO, advertising, pop culture, fashion, arts, or similar topics.
  • Experience working with instructional designers and graphic designers is a huge plus.
Candidates must be willing to:
  • participate in an audition that evaluates reading comprehension, writing, and editing skills.
  • be trained in instructional design by ansrsource, if hired.
Candidates should have the ability to:
  1. Write informative/teaching content from scratch, without plagiarizing, for a broad range of teaching/informative topics.
  2. Write scripts for live action videos on a range of topics.
  3. Write scripts for explainer/informative videos on a range of teaching/informative topics.
  4. Edit teaching/informative content so that the content is more concise and/or reduced in quantity without meaning being lost.
  5. Edit content for appropriate tone, as per client requirements.
  6. Edit content for grammar, phrasing, punctuation, etc.
  7. Create content outlines for lessons, modules, courses, learning solutions, and/or programs.
  8. Analyze client content and determine what parts of the content are needed to fulfill learning objectives.
  9. Analyze client content and determine where content needs to be found from other sources to fulfil learning objectives.
  10. Research topics as needed to flesh out or add to content for learning content.
  11. Write learning objectives using Bloom s Taxonomy.
  12. Learn instructional design skills through workshops ansrsource will run and through coaching and mentoring on the job.
Required Skills:
  • 3-5 years of experience as an individual contributor in the role as a content writer.
  • Strong English language skills including grammar principles, phrasing, and punctuation.
  • Strong reading comprehension skills and listening comprehension skills.
  • Good communication skills for internal and external communication via email, online meetings, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Ability to create scripts for live action video scripts (including dialogue) and explainer/informative videos.
  • Ability to create content for a range of teaching/informative topics (college level content, leadership, team development, etc.)
  • Ability to rewrite and edit content and scratch write content without plagiarism.
  • Ability to perform effective content analysis.
  • Ability to tell a story with content, including data.
Education Qualification:
  • Any (Mass Communication / English Literature /Journalism / Similar)
  • Any experience and/or certification in instructional design is highly desired.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Strong grasp of US American English.
  • Ability to interface in person and online with clients, India and US counterparts, and stakeholders.
  • Awareness of project management and used to operating within tight deadlines.
