Job Description

As a member of our Infrastructure Development team, you will dive right into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to develop and deploy large scale infrastructure solutions that supports JPMC s diverse and critical businesses. You will be using the latest technologies, data management and security practices in all aspects of software development. Critical thinking, clear communication and collaboration are key to successful product delivery.As a Mainframe Network Infrastructure Developer, youll play a big part in designing the platforms, servers, and networks that make it possible for us to provide service to our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe each and every day. You ll be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of highly resilient and stable Mainframe infrastructure through automated scripting rather than manual processes. You ll call on your experience designing tailored solutions to understand the requirements of a project, test the performance of the infrastructure, and verify that the requirements have been successfully met.In addition to traditional Mainframe Systems Programming skills, the ideal candidate will have experience with software-driven systems management using various scripting languages and will be open to new ideas and ways to manage Mainframe infrastructure software.This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Java, C, C++, Go, JCL, REXX, PERL, PHP, JYTHON, zOSMF Workflows, J2EE, MVC, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, HTML, JQuery, AngularJS, JSON and XML
  • Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, unix/linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development
  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs using Swagger (or similar framework)
  • Experience with developing frameworks that helps increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health and technical standards
  • Proficient across Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (Agile, program managements, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)
  • Understanding and proficiency in the following platform products within z/Series Networks: Transmission Products (FTPs (SSL), sFTP (SSH), XCOM & Secure NDM); Session Manager applications (TPX, Supersession & Teleview); IBM Software Firewall configurations for Disaster Recovery testing; Mainframe Network Components (TCP/IP including DVIPA & DDVIPA configurations, IPSEC, IPFILTER, Intrusion Detection Services (IDS), Enterprise Extender (EE), VTAM, APPN, OSA connectivity interface to the Core Network)
  • Knowledge of server side design patterns and continuous delivery principles
  • Good understanding, with hands on experience in TDD, Junit, Jenkins, Maven and Ant
