This person will be responsible for upgrading our schools English curriculum and pedagogy and implementing a culture of reading across all grades.As part of the curriculum team, she will be responsible for integration of STEM topics and related literary activities in ELA lesson plans.Following skills and traits are REQUIRED: Dynamic, self-driven, highly motivated individuals with high level of integrity and commitment, and demonstrated leadership skills. Have a love for teaching and literature, and a proven track-record of implementing literacy programs in CBSE/ICSE-board schools. 4 (minimum) to 15 years of teaching experience in reputed institutions, with at least two years of experience as a subject lead/coordinator. Demonstrated ability to work well with people and maintain positive working relationships. Familiar with using software applications (Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Google Docs web technologies, smart-apps/smart-boards as part of their role. Be willing to innovate and incorporate 21st Century technologies in their teaching. Post-graduate education degree in areas of curriculum development and instructional practice is highly desired.In addition to the responsibilities of subject lead (curriculum definition and implementation, tests and assessments, classroom observation, auditing notebooks and lesson plans, teacher training etc), the role will entail the following specific responsibilities: Implementing various literacy-focused activities such as reading/writing workshops, book clubs, theatre, debate and creative writing. Conduct activities such as Library Week, literary arts-based competitions etc, to build a culture of reading across the school. Be an active and contributing member of core committees for school improvement.
