• Prior work experience in Investment Banking, Sales and Trading, Accounting, or the Oil and Gas industry is preferred but not required
• Financial modelling, analysis and valuation
• Responsible for coverage of Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors
• Keeps abreast of market news in assigned coverage areas
• Constantly works to expand knowledge base of company/industry/sector economics and investment merit of assigned companies
• Leads meetings and conference calls with senior executives of targeted companies as part of the due diligence process
• Balancing mechanism optimisation and management of hedging orders for 3 UK gas fired power stations
• Scheduling and dispatching of gas and electricity trading positions across northern Europe
• Day to day interface with transport system operators
• The management and implementation of new business projects to expand the existing European energy business
Qualifications for gas analyst
• Two to four years of gas markets experience
• Should be comfortable working in oil and gas data collection and amalgamation utilities
• A Masters degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related subjects is preferred
• Strong interest in energy economics, finance, climate change, and policy
