Job Description

  • Evaluate existing and emerging technologies, understand and document the high level scope and objectives of the project in a business requirements document, and establish communication channels
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for how to leverage them for solving business challenges in a methodical and structured manner
  • Conduct gap analysis of complex legacy systems to be replaced when necessary
  • Identify business needs/challenges, and design processes and features to solve them
  • Precise and rigorous documentation of business requirements for presentation, business and data layers
  • Provide detailed explanation of business requirements to technical and testing teams to ensure clear understanding prior to development and testing
  • Conduct acceptance tests to sign off on newly developed features meet documented requirements prior to go live
  • Provide train the trainer sessions to enable support and training team to effectively train end users of the system
  • Excellent command of the English language, both in speaking and writing
  • Work with stakeholders in different continents and time zones to understand and formulate business needs

Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years work experience as a business analyst
  • Preferably 1-2 years work experience as a software engineer
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for how to leverage them into existing software systems
  • Ability to identify weaknesses in existing business processes and propose optimal processes based on business needs and industry best practices
  • Strong technical skills, with firm grasp of web and enterprise technology concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and to develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and team members
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills to articulately express complexity in simple language
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills to prepare requirements documentation
  • Knowledge of user experience concepts and ability to apply them in wireframe design of web applications
  • Technology enthusiast; keeps up-to-date with current and emerging web technologies, understanding how new technologies can be leveraged to deliver business value
  • Experience working with technology platforms preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Balsamiq, wireframing tools
  • Highly self motivated with a passion for excellence and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
