Job Description

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:This position is for an experienced network security specialist. Candidates must demonstrate a subject-matter expertise in network firewalls, Algosec suite and Intrusion Preventions Systems (IPS). The ideal candidate will have experience successfully delivering compliance and remediation activities for network and security devices.JOB SUMMARY:

  • Candidate should be a technical expert in Network Security products specifically in Firewall technology. Candidate should have in-depth knowledge about Implementation scenarios, configuration and troubleshooting of Firewall related issues
  • Should have very strong fundamental core networking skills, with thorough knowledge of TCP/IP Protocol suite, OSI layered architecture and should be able to relate that knowledge in troubleshooting related issues.
  • Oversee the Firewall change management process. Streamlines activities in the change process.
  • Proven knowledge and practical application of Security, Firewalls, access and perimeter control, vulnerability management and IPS
  • Proven experience with data networks including physical layer infrastructure, servers, LAN/WAN hardware, software, data transmission facilities and interconnecting devices
  • Work with MSS partner to ensure that security issues are remediated timely and appropriately.
  • Good understanding of SLAs and KPIs and supplier governance concepts.
  • Providing support during high priority incidents to minimize resolution duration.
  • Ensuring managed network services providers adhere to set network security standards.
  • Attend and run periodic cadence meetings with multiple MSS vendors.
  • Leading and supporting internal and external audits for Network security processes
  • Good knowledge of OWASP top security issues and Mod Security rules.
  • In depth knowledge of Virtual Private Networks VPNs wrt. Design, Implementation Scenarios, Connectivity troubleshooting and other Algorithms such as DES, 3DES, MD5, SHA etc
  • Hands-on on web security tools, burp suite, tcpdump, tshark , Wireshark etc.
  • Familiar with stopping evil in its tracks with IDS/IPS other basic firewall security concepts.
  • Certified in either of JNCIA, JNCIS-SEC, JNCIP-SEC, CCNA, CCNP other certifications are added plus.
  • Be highly analytical and can quickly identify, replicate & resolve customer reported issues
  • knowledge of various security packages, DoS & DDoS attack types & an awareness of the white hat/black hat/grey hat communities and tools used by its members
  • Must be a team player and should be ready for weekend on call support as needed.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new product support as organization evolves.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • 5-10 years of network security or governance
  • Bachelors Degree in a related technical field (preferred)
  • Experience with Algosec suite, Checkpoint, Cisco and Juniper firewalls
  • Experience with IPS, preferably McAfee
  • Must be able to support implementation of configuration management processes and support the resolution of firewall related issues
  • Must be able to update baseline artifacts to include logical design, as-is drawings and other documents as required
